DailyMail.com has reached out to representatives for NBC for comment on the This Is Us cancellation.

The show has been a powerhouse of awards with Emmy nominations for drama series and for stars Ventimiglia, Moore, Sterling K Brown Brown and Metz.

The final season is expected to have 18 episodes, which will bring the series’ total episodes to over 100. That number means producers could get a generous “off-grid syndication deal” according to the site, which would mean a big payday for Fogelman and Disney, who now owns the series.

There have been hints over the years that the show would end. In May 2019, sources told THR that season six would be “probably the last.”
