Manchester United player Harry Maguire provides injury update ahead of Europa League final – fr

Manchester United captain Harry Maguire intends to stay positive in his attempt to recover from injury for the Europa League final against Villarreal.
Maguire is not expected to play in the Premier League again this season after sustaining ankle ligament damage in the 3-1 Premier League win at Aston Villa on May 9.

The United captain had played every minute of the league since arriving from £ 80million in the summer of 2019 before being forced out of Villa Park, but Maguire risks missing United’s first final in three years.

United will face Villarreal in Gdansk next Wednesday and Maguire should have as much time as possible to regain the skipper’s fitness.

“Basically he (Villa player Anwar el Ghazi) just fell on top of me and put his full weight on me and I ended up twisting my ankle,” Maguire told United. “It wasn’t a muscle injury so it was a bit unfortunate and very frustrating.

Who would you start in the Europa League final if Maguire was absent? Let us know in the comments section below.

“I was very disappointed the night and the day after, but I accepted it. I have to be positive. I have to look ahead and make sure when I’m ready to come back. I’m in great shape, eager to go and can pick up where I left off.

“It’s such an exciting game to participate. I’m sure everyone dreams of winning this final or scoring the winner. “

If Maguire is not available for United in Poland, Eric Bailly or Axel Tuanzebe will be associated with Victor Lindelof in defense.
