Loki Marvel characters will come from alternate timelines – / film – fr

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has regularly introduced all things multiverse, with little nods to alternate timelines and the like in movies like Spider-Man: Far From Home and Avengers: Endgame. More Loki Will be the first Marvel title to go all-in on multiverse shenanigans, of which there will be a lot, Chief Marvel Kevin Feige teases. Which of course means: alternate versions of some of our favorite Marvel characters.

In Entertainment Weekly’s preview of the Marvel Disney + series Loki, Feige said the alternate timelines Loki would go through on behalf of the Time Variance Authority (TVA) would inevitably lead him to meet some familiar faces. But they won’t be exactly like the MCU characters we know, Feige said:

“Part of the fun of the multiverse and playing the game over time is seeing other versions of characters, and other versions of the titular character in particular. It has been around for thousands of years. He’s had all kinds of adventures. Wanting to fill in the blanks and see a lot more of Loki’s story [was] the initial desire [for the series]. »

There has already been speculation that an alternate version of Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow could appear, although it is interesting to see if Loki bumps into one of the Avengers during his mission to preserve the timeline that he does. he broke. By senior editor Michael Waldron, whenever Loki jumps into a new alternate reality, the series will “be inspired by different things,” with an episode paying homage to Blade Runnerblack aesthetics.

But even more alluring: the possibility that Loki could meet other alternate Lokis. There’s the interesting character dynamic that could come from this encounter of Loki with the Loki Prime, who redeemed himself and died trying to stop Thanos, but also the overwhelming image of two Tom Hiddlestons in a frame. And that opens the door for Loki to make many more MCU appearances in the future.

But Hiddleston was unsure whether he would reprise his role as Loki beyond this “initial season” of. Loki. “I’m open to anything,” he told EW. “I said goodbye to the character. I said hello to the character. I said goodbye to the character [again]. I learned not to make assumptions, I guess. I’m just grateful that I’m still here, and there are still new roads to explore. “

Loki debuts on Disney + on June 9, 2021.
