Coady insists Neto will definitely not join Liverpool
Liverpool won’t make a second raid on Molineux in as many summers for another Portuguese star at Wolverhampton Wanderers, insists captain Conor Coady.
The Reds picked Diogo Jota at the start of this season and he has proven to be a revelation at Anfield, but Coady is delighted not to lose another of his teammates to his former club.
HITC quotes Jamie Carragher who asked the Wolves defender if he had put a good word to help bring Pedro Neto to Anfield on the Greatest Game podcast.
Carragher said: “Have you told him about the quality of Liverpool? “
However, Coady replied, “He’s not leaving the wolves! “
Singing the praises of his colleagues, the St Helens-born England international added to Carragher:
“Boss, yeah. Very good. He’s classy.
“You forget he’s 21, I look at him like a 28-year-old man. He doesn’t look that age.
“We were talking the other day and we were talking about how he was born in 2000 and we put him in the same category as Phil Foden.
“You look at how well he’s doing and then you look at the numbers Pedro brings up as well, as well as the assists and goals and how he affects Wolves games.
“He’s an incredible player companion, absolutely incredible. “
