The nation finally learned the identity of H when 12.8 million viewers tuned in to the latest episode of Line of Duty last Sunday.
But creator Jed Mercurio said he planted a very subtle clue early on, throughout the first series!
The multitude of conspiracy theories was half the fun in the BBC’s hit crime drama.
Speaking on the Obsessed podcast with… Line of Duty, it was revealed that there was a clue that no one could remember.
The clue was that Buckle had let the caddy talk to Tummy Hunter alone in the back of a van – showing he was shady.

Yet the eagle-eyed viewers who had previously spotted the set of golf clubs in Buckells’ office and made the “caddy” connection.
Jed also refuted speculation that AC-12 member Chloe Bishop could be the daughter of Tony Gates in the bent copper from the first series.
“If I hear the theory that Chloe is the daughter of Lennie James ‘Tony Gates’ once again, I’m going to have a nervous breakdown,” Parkinson said. “I threw enough Reg 15 on Twitter to last me a lifetime.
“Can we just put this to bed?”
However, some fans weren’t just hugging about a disappointing series finale – they’re also battling DC Chloe Bishop.
Initially, some viewers believed it was Double Agent Chloe who would be revealed as H.
But it quickly turned into sympathy for the character after she played a key role in solving the mystery.
