1 Illan Meslier – eight
For the pressure that Burnley undoubtedly applied at times, the goalkeeper didn’t have much to do. Took the crosses very well hung in the air and was brave. Superb save to refuse Matej Vydra in a head to head with the score still only 1-0.
2 Luke Ayling (c) – sept
Stable afternoon for the replacement skipper. I kept Chris’s wood in very calm shape all over. I had a battle going on with the umpire all day with a few decisions.
14 Diego Llorente – Sept
Has held up well to the physical challenge brought by Burnley, especially when tall balls were raining into Leeds’ box. Not quite the same frequency of high risk rear hunts.
21 Pascal Struijk – Sept.
A calm and satisfying afternoon for the central defender. Proved again why Liam Cooper is not yet able to supplant him.
15 Stuart Dallas – sept
Usual stock market performance of one of the players of the year. Perhaps expected more of himself with a few fighters on the edge of the box, but he got around the field and did his job.
23 Kalvin Phillips – huit
He had fun and let his death speak, especially in the second half. Disturbed Burnley in the middle.
Ten Ezgjan Aliosky – seven
Another decent exit from the Macedonian. Blushed untouched by the offside flag when he took a shot and he came out for a throw-in. I got involved a lot with Dwight McNeil shortly before Burnley’s man left.
43 Mateusz Klich – sept
I will be delighted to get back on the scoresheet after such a long time. Burnley’s defense was excruciating, but he seized the risk with a cultivated finish. Shot in the arm after a few difficult months.
18 Raphinha – sept
Half threatened to explode in the match winner, we know he can be. Adapts and starts throughout the game. Small lightning bolts that will hopefully turn into full-blown carnage with more match time.
9 Patrick Bamford – five
Difficult afternoon for the striker, who would have wanted the space that opened up later in the second half. James Tarkwoski and Ben Mee had him pocketed and isolated.
22 Jack Harrison – eight
Superb display of attacking football from Harrison, who cleaned up goals and assists. Skillful and instinctive finish of his goal. Dribbling was a threat to Burnley all afternoon.
13 Kiko Casilla
6 Liam Cooper
7 Ian Poveda (enabled for Raphinha 81min) – N / A
11 Tyler Roberts (on for Klich 76min) – N / A
20 Rodrigo (on for Bamford 58min) – eight
Some influence from the bench and a huge boost for those looking for the last two games or even next season. Improve by the game and two outstanding pieces of attacking football to take his goals.
