Kevin De Bruyne: Manchester City midfielder fractured his nose and left orbit in Champions League final defeat

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has revealed he suffered a broken nose and left orbital following his collision with Antonio Rudiger in Saturday’s 1-0 loss in the League final champions against Chelsea.

The 29-year-old playmaker had to be replaced by Gabriel Jesus in the 60th minute on Saturday night following a collision with Blues center-back Antonio Rudiger.

De Bruyne left the pitch in tears in Porto and gave an update on his injury after a hospital visit on Sunday morning.

Pep Guardiola insists he picked the Manchester City team he believed to be best equipped to win the Champions League final against Chelsea.

De Bruyne hopes to make a full recovery for the Belgian Euro 2020 campaign which begins in less than two weeks.

Roberto Martinez’s side face Russia in their opener on June 12.
