She announced a new brand of alcohol in the works earlier this year.

And Kendall Jenner proved to be an active patron when she greeted a large number of fans at the 818 tequila launch in Los Angeles on Monday afternoon.

The 25-year-old model sported an all-white ensemble with an 818 waistcoat to reveal her new line at the Mel and Rose liquor store after facing a backlash of cultural appropriation for not only naming her spirits after the area code of Calabasas where she grew up, but also for failing to honor the deep-rooted Mexican heritage of tequila.

Kendall wore a loose white long sleeve top with straight jeans and a navy 818 waistcoat with a “Kenny” patch.

She stayed comfortable in a pair of classic black Converse sneakers and blocked her eyes against the bright sun with rectangular frames.

Enthusiastic fans were treated to 818 merchandise (including hats and shirts) tossed Jenner into the crowd from a bright green truck.

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star then traveled to BevMo where her bottles were proudly displayed.

His new line includes an Anejo, Blanco and Reposado of agave plants grown in Jalisco, Mexico.

Kendall announced Monday morning that her line would be officially available in California, with the States following soon for a well-stocked summer.

Almost immediately after announcing her latest business earlier this year, Kendall faced scrutiny of her brand name and the attempt to diminish the cultural significance of tequila in the Latinx community.

“There was just a lack of respect for the culture and importance of tequila in Mexico,” bartender Lucas Assis told Yahoo Life in February. “She didn’t even know how to properly drink tequila.

He went on to explain how agave takes up to nine years to fully mature before it can be harvested, a questionable amount of time since Kendall noted that she only spent four years perfecting her new brand.

“The factory is steeped in the country’s history and culture. Celebrities need to understand the detrimental effect their brands can have on the tequila industry, but especially on agave farming, ”he said.

“Using the culture and history of Mexico for nothing other than capital gain is cultural appropriation. Not to mention the fact that small family-owned distilleries, which have been doing this for generations, are struggling to keep up with soaring agave prices as farmers simply cannot keep up with demand.
