Burnley collapsed to a 4-0 loss to Leeds United on Saturday as their winless home run spanned 10 games.
The Clarets were in the contest until they conceded at halftime and the visitors made the game safe with three strikes in the second half.

Sean Dyche’s side had provided Premier League safety to Fulham earlier in the week and some elements of the performance looked jaded even though Burnley had his own chances.

The result leaves Burnley 15th with two games to go and here’s how the Clarets players reacted to the heavy loss.

Jack Cork

“It feels like the seasons have been long for two years now and we put a lot of money into Monday – a lot emotionally – trying to get the job done for us.

“We haven’t lacked any efforts or tries today on our part, but it’s been a bit emotional week.

“Putting it all together on Monday against Fulham and then coming in today and trying to replicate that same effort is difficult.

“Leeds are a team that runs a lot, which we do too. I think today they had a little more energy than us, especially towards the end of the second half.

“The first goal was a great goal on their part. I think that’s what they wanted us to do – get out of our position and exploit that on the counterattack.

“The second was deflected so it was a bit unlucky and at this point we had had a few chances and we could have closed the gap.

“If we had taken them maybe it will give us some strength and change the outcome of the game.

“After that it was a tough afternoon and we played a bit in their hands having to chase after the game. “

Charlie Taylor

“We had chances and we started the game really well. We wrote them down but we met them one day when everything they touched came in. They played well.

“Once we’re 2-0 we have to face them and chase them and that’s exactly what they want, but at 2-0 you have to do it, you can’t really sit down.

“He ended up being four, which maybe a little hard but don’t take anything away from them, they played well.

“Getting to safety the other night was a great thing and we came here today full of confidence, but it didn’t quite work out for us.

“But looking back now, after the start we took, it’s been a successful season and we have another season in the Premier League.

“We weren’t lucky with the injuries and we had a lot of them. “
