People started showing up at the Orange County beach as early as Friday night. Police dispersed the crowds, numbering in the thousands around 9:30 p.m. last night.

The event started with a TikTok user named Adrien inviting people to his “Kick Back Birthday” at the beach and the video post got millions of views.
People from all over the country responded by saying they were heading to Huntington Beach so they could party.

“It’s like you don’t remember when you were young?” You just want to go have fun, throw parties, and we’ve kind of lost that this year because of COVID, ”party girl Erica Ramirez told CBSLA’s Rick Montanez.
A Stockton resident named Jonah told CBSLA he was stuck in the pandemic, just trying to have a little fun, which is why he headed to the beach for the party.

The revelers set off fireworks, prompting the police to interact with the crowd. There are fears that the big pop-up party will become a widespread event as the pandemic continues and not everyone is vaccinated.
