The 32-year-old star, at the top of the charts, appeared in the 2015 ITV reality TV series Bear Grylls: Mission Survive alongside 51-year-old sports icon Dame Kelly.
During their time together on the show, an unreleased accident occurred in which Max stabbed the Olympic icon in the arm while trying to start a fire.
The incident sparked a horror scene with blood spattered all over the campsite – and Max got his packing orders from Bear, the show’s host, 46.
Max told the Dangerous Dinners podcast, “I made a mistake. Technically, I stabbed her with a knife.
“She was trying to make a fire and I said, ‘Give it here.’
“I hit the knife on the metal and I missed it and it nicked her.”
“There was blood everywhere. I stabbed a woman!
George then revealed that the incident made his place on the show – and he was devastated to let down his little onscreen hero, Bear.
He explained, “Bear sent me home. And I was a big fan, I had all of his videos.
“I was emptied, I missed it. I was emptied of hurting Lady Kelly, first of all. But then my experience was cut short.
“I was in Costa Rica and this sort of thing is my dream.”
Luckily for Max, the incident is a thing of the past and all is forgiven in the eyes of Dame Kelly – who seems more upset by the fact that Max was sent home rather than the injury she suffered.
The two-time Olympic gold medalist told The Sun on Sunday: “It was a complete accident and I was sad when he left because he was so cute and lit up the camp with his smile.
