The former Tottenham, QPR and West Ham boss has said he has long wanted to appear on the BBC One soap opera.
Her special appearance has now been officially confirmed following reports that the star has been spotted on set.
“It’s no secret that I wanted to be EastEnders so I’m excited to make a special appearance this summer, ”said Redknapp.
“With a nod to the Euros it’s a great combination and as a true East Londoner it’s been so much fun. “
Redknapp, 74, also said that Sandra, his wife for over 50 years, is a “big fan” of soap, “so this is a really special time for the whole family.”
EastEnders said that “Redknapp’s legendary status among West Ham supporters ensures Harry will be welcomed to Walford with open arms as the residents of Square celebrate the tournament.”
Jon Sen, executive producer of the soap opera, said: “What better way to mark a special summer for football fans by inviting none other than West Ham legend Harry Redknapp to visit Walford?
“He is synonymous with the East End of London and we were delighted to hear that he is also a fan of the series. We can’t wait for the public to see what brings Harry to Albert Square. “
Redknapp, whose cameo will air this summer, won ITV’s 2018 series I am a celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here !, and currently hosts Redknapp’s Big Night Out on Sky One with son Jamie Redknapp and comedian Tom Davis.
