Bruins hope to sign contract with Hall – fr

Taylor Room may become an unrestricted free agent after the season, but the forward hopes to stay with the Boston Bruins for the foreseeable future.

“I want to play here, not just for another year or two, I hope longer than that,” Hall told ESPN in comments posted Thursday. “I don’t even know what my worth is right now, honestly. I’m not worried about my contract at the moment, it’s something we’ll find out this summer. I have much more important things to fear as a player, as a teammate. ”
Hall was acquired in an April 12 trade with the Buffalo Sabers with the forward Curtis Lazar To advance Anders Bjork and a second-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft. He signed a one-year, $ 8 million contract with the Sabers on October 11 and can become an unrestricted free agent on July 28.

The 29-year-old forward has 14 points (eight goals, six assists) in 16 games with the Bruins in the regular season and has three points (two goals, one assist) in five Stanley Cup playoff games for the help advance to the second round of the Stanley Cup, where they face the New York Islanders starting with Game 1 in Boston on Saturday (8 p.m. ET; NBC, SN360, TVAS).

The Bruins beat the Washington Capitals in five games in the First-Round Top-7 series.

“When I got to Boston, I was just going to take things in stride,” Hall said. “Enjoy every day. And it worked. We won a round, we had a pretty good end to the regular season, but it showed me how much fun hockey can be. And that’s what I’ve learned here so far.

Hall scored 19 points (two goals, 17 assists) in 37 games with the Sabers, but found more success with the Bruins.

“I couldn’t wait to join a team in the playoffs,” Hall said. “I couldn’t wait to move to a place that had a good culture, and where winning was sustainable. Because I was looking for a place where I could re-sign, not just the 20 games to end the season. “

Bruins chairman Cam Neely has said he hopes they will be able to sign a contract with Hall after the season.

“As far as Taylor goes, we’re going to continue to see how things go with the playoffs here,” Neely said on May 12. “I think we would like to try to do something, but that remains to be seen. But it is our hope. “

Selected by the Edmonton Oilers with the first pick in the 2010 NHL Draft, Hall scored 596 points (228 goals, 368 assists) in 680 regular season games with the Bruins, Sabers, Arizona Coyotes, the New Jersey Devils and the Oilers.

” I knew [Boston] was a great city, but I was surprised how much better it was than I thought, ”Hall said. ” I hope everything is okay. “
