Guests walk down Main Street USA without masks for the first time in 14 months at Walt Disney World – fr

For the first time since March 2020, guests are allowed to walk around Walt Disney World theme parks without covering their faces, in a shocking late-night change to Orlando theme park rules since their reopening in July 2020. WDWNT reporters were at the Magic Kingdom today to be the first to bring you this historic moment as guests strolled Main Street, USA, without covering up the face.

Although some guests chose to keep their face masks, a good majority of guests had their masks either pulled back around their chin or removed entirely. Most have chosen the former, keeping their masks on hand whenever entry into a store or attraction is required.

Signs remain in place on Walt Disney World trash cans to inform customers of the old requirements, which will likely change in the coming days.

With the brutal and somewhat unexpected release of the face covering rules last night, the photos above are a bit of a shock to those of us who have visited the parks for months under the old rule. The day before yesterday, it was certainly expected that there would be more time between announcing and executing such a change, but here we are today.

Face masks are always required in indoor environments as well as in queues indoors and outdoors, so customers are strongly encouraged to keep their masks on hand throughout their visit. at Walt Disney World.
