Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Dele Alli remains the top transfer priority to Paris Saint-Germain midfielder this summer.
The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder was heavily linked with a meeting with former boss Mauricio Pochettino in the French capital during the January transfer window only for President Daniel Levy to block a loan deal as Jose Mourinho agreed to enable change (talkSPORT).
Dele has struggled for regular first-team football under Mourinho, having made just two Premier League starts for the North Londoners before the Portuguese were sacked last month.
The 25-year-old has grown into one of the brightest young players in European football under Pochettino who saw him reach 50 Premier League goals in a faster time than Eden Hazard, Paul Scholes, Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard (The Sun).
“Yes, Dele Alli would be Paris Saint-Germain’s first target in midfield,” said Romano. CBS.
“They want Dele Alli, he was really close in January but Tottenham president Daniel Levy has decided to keep the player.
“But we know the relationship between Pochettino and Dele Alli, he was amazing at Tottenham with him and that’s why Pochettino insists on having him this summer.
“Let’s see what Tottenham decide and see who will be the new Tottenham manager who will be the key in deciding for the club to keep Dele Alli or let him leave the club. [sic].
“But it is sure that Pochettino will push back because he strongly wants Dele Alli [sic]. »

It seems unlikely that Tottenham will sell Dele this summer given that a new manager is about to arrive and the midfielder will likely have another chance to regain his place in the squad. Despite the fact that his form has been questionable for quite some time, there is no doubt about the skill and quality he can bring when he’s at his peak.
