Dominic Calvert-Lewin shows the next step in Everton’s evolution
It can’t be easy for Dominic Calvert-Lewin playing in front of Everton at times, writes Adam Jones.
Throughout this campaign, the Blues have been forced to play more defensively to strike the right balance at the back and build on their results from there.
Often this has left the attacker with a thankless task at the upper end of the pitch. He has to show his muscles against tough opponents, hold the ball and add a lot of new aspects to his game to try and gain support around him.
This Sunday’s game against West Ham United was no different. Opportunities were scarce for the striker, but he still managed to get himself on the scoresheet.
It has been a common theme throughout the season for him, and he returned to that form after a short span in which he struggled a bit more to get the ball into the back of the net.
But what really drew attention to his winning strike against the Hammers this weekend was the way he put the ball in the net.
