Andre Gomes, Fabian Delph ask transfer question after Tom Davies proves his point

Carlo Ancelotti and Marcel Brands face an ‘interesting’ transfer window after Fabian Delph continued his return to Everton at West Ham United on Sunday.

Delph, 31, has appeared in the last three games after missing four months of the season with a hamstring injury suffered at Burnley in December.

Tom Davies impressed alongside Allan in midfield at London Stadium as Ancelotti made the decision to drop Andre Gomes while Abdoulaye Doucoure also returned to the bench after his own two-month layoff for injury.

Ancelotti has insisted Everton is unlikely to enter the transfer market to replace Jean-Philippe Gbamin this summer as he maintains faith in the Ivorian despite injuries that have weighed on his time at Goodison Park since his arrival from Mainz for £ 25million in 2019.

But speaking of the latest edition of the Royal Blue Podcast, ECHO reporter Chris Beesley believes “question marks” remain around summer recruiting in the middle of the park.
