England manager Gareth Southgate will announce his provisional squad for Euro 2020 on Monday, with several injury issues still affecting names who are likely to be on the bus.
Jordan Henderson, Harry Maguire, Nick Pope and Kalvin Phillips are all due for review in the coming days, so Southgate is set to wait until June 1 before naming their last 26.
There remains intense speculation as to whether Liverpool’s creative king Trent Alexander-Arnold will make the cut for Southgate, with Kyle Walker, Kieran Trippier and Reece James all vying for right-back spots on the squad, while there is still a decision or two. to do in attack, too.
Harry Kane will of course be the spearhead of the front line, but there can still be a surprise with his reinforcement in the center or the names chosen to offer support from large areas – a few players will inevitably end up being disappointed.
Euro 2020 squad announcements so far have been extremely varied, with Germany handing callbacks to two veterans, Spain nominating Under-26 and Wales opting for the road provisional team, as Southgate should.
Tuesday marks in turn to appeal to who, at least at the start, will form the basis of the team that an entire nation hopes to be able to see through this summer.
They don’t all make a convincing recent case in front of the lens. For comparison, over a similar span, Kane finished the season with 10 of his last 14 in the league.

Liverpool right-back carries an element of risk, writes Tony Evans. And he should go 100% to Euro 2020 anyway – or precisely because of that.
The case of Trent Alexander-Arnold
Gareth Southgate has a host of high-quality options to choose from at right-back, but the Reds defender remains a rare difference to position and should be part of the squad.

WHERE DO THE GOALS COME FROM?
Yes, we know Harry Kane – he’s 34 internationally and must aim to repeat his World Cup efforts this summer, when he finished top scorer.
But after that, Raheem Sterling and Marcus Rashford are the only members of the squad to have doubled the numbers at the senior international level, with 14 and 11 goals respectively.
Sancho, Calvert-Lewin, Mount and Foden could also offer ammo, but none have yet reached the five-goal mini-milestone.

What quartet – or maybe more? – would you prefer to see him go?
John Stones has had a great season, but Conor Coady, Tyrone Mings and Eric Dier have been involved throughout this campaign under Southgate.
Add in Maguire, who will certainly go so fit, and Michael Keane who has been in and around the squad, and there are plenty of senior names – even without considering talented youngsters and injured stars like Joe Gomez who won’t be receiving. not the call.
