Elon Musk Makes Dramatic Cryptocurrency U-TURN – Cryptic Tweet Steals Stocks | City and business

Announcing today on Twitter, the Tesla boss suggested he would support cryptocurrencies rather than fiat currencies. The turnaround comes after the CEO of SpaceX sent conflicting messages for more than a week that began with a statement that Tesla would stop accepting bitcoin as a payment method. On Twitter this morning, Mr Musk said, “The real battle is between fiat and crypto.

“Overall, I support the latter. ”
Mr. Musk was responding to a Twitter follower who said, “Yo Elon, what do you think of the pals who are mad at you over crypto? “

This was in reference to Mr. Musk’s recent contradictory tweets that have brought such volatility to the cryptocurrency markets.

Over a week ago, Mr. Musk tweeted a statement that read, “Tesla has suspended purchases of vehicles using Bitcoin.

Mr. Musk responded to the tweet by simply saying “indeed”.
However, Mr. Musk has now retracted those earlier statements.

Mr Musk then provided a quick clarification to end speculation that Tesla could get rid of his bitcoin holdings.

He tweeted: “To clarify the speculation, Tesla did not sell any bitcoin. “

Next, Elon Musk tweeted a ‘diamond hands’ emoji amid the bitcoin drop, implying that Tesla will not sell its vast holdings of the world’s preeminent cryptocurrency.

In a tweet on Wednesday morning, Mr Musk said Tesla had ‘diamond hands’ suggesting the company he runs would not lose his $ 1.5 billion (£ 1.06 billion) stake in Bitcoin.

The Tesla chief also tweeted, “How much is that Doge in the Window? “

In this tweet, he attached a cryptic image of a US dollar bill that had been manipulated to look like it had a doge coin face on it.
