Just yesterday, we learned that Dave Bautista had joined the cast of Rian Johnson Knives Out sequel on Netflix, an apparent “thank you” from Ted Sarandos to Bautista for choosing Army of the dead more than The suicide squad, and now another famous person – presumably a most famous person – also signed: Edward Norton, who, like Bautista and Knives OutChris Evans, has been in at least one Marvel movie. Interesting!
This news comes from Deadline, who of course doesn’t know anything about who Norton might be playing or what the plot of the Knives Out the sequel will be, but we know it will involve Daniel Craig’s return as Detective Benoit Blanc and some sort of mystery. There will probably be some intelligence in all of this, since that’s the kind of thing Rian Johnson does, and Deadline says production starts this summer in Greece. That doesn’t necessarily mean it will take place in Greece, although the first movie was shot in Massachusetts and took place in Massachusetts, so maybe Benoit Blanc is going on vacation. Maybe it will be like an episode of Monk where Benoit Blanc stumbles upon a mystery while he is in a station? Bautista may be one of the other vacationers and Norton may be, like, an arrogant room service guy. Then Johnson just has to bring in some more famous actors who have been in the Marvel movies to play other types of people who would be at a beach resort in Greece (possibly a wealthy divorcee, a suspicious businessman and city dwellers who want the rich complex. people and detectives).
