Donald Trump: Has the former president found a way around his ban on social media?

Former US President Donald Trump remains banned from Twitter and Facebook, but he may have found a way around the sanctions.

Mr. Trump has launched a space on his website where he posts posts that can be shared by others on their own social media pages.

The website is called From The Desk Of Donald J Trump, and a source told Reuters that it was built by Campaign Nucleus, a digital services company created by Mr. Trump’s former campaign manager Brad. Parscale.

The content of Mr. Trump’s messages so far will not come as a surprise to supporters or opponents – he repeats his false claims about voter fraud in the last presidential election and his criticism of Republicans who did not support him.

He calls Mitt Romney a “cold loser” and Liz Cheney a “large-scale warmonger”.

Mr. Trump was banned from a number of social media platforms after his supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol on January 6.

Later today, Facebook’s supervisory board will discuss whether its ban for the 74-year-old should be extended.

Twitter has previously said his ban is permanent whether or not he runs for a job in the future, while YouTube will revive the former president’s channel when the risk of violence decreases.

Facebook and Twitter said they removed content posted on other accounts that tried to circumvent their bans on Mr. Trump.
