City of Blind River receives infrastructure funding from Toronto Blue Jays – fr

The municipality is one of 14 nationwide to receive funding under the Field Of Dreams program

The town of Blind River was chosen as one of 14 nationwide funding recipients from the Jays Care Foundation, the charitable arm of the Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Club.

A press release issued today by the club says the organization is investing more than $ 1 million in infrastructure projects this year as part of its Field Of Dreams program to benefit Canadian youth. .

“Fourteen organizations in seven provinces will receive funding to build, upgrade and renovate baseball fields where children and youth will develop important life skills and learn from positive role models,” the release said.

“After a remarkably difficult year, we hope today’s announcement provides families in these communities with something to celebrate and look forward to. We’re excited to help organizations across the country create exciting new spaces for children and youth to reconnect once it’s safe to do so, ”said Robert Witchel, CEO of the Jays Care Foundation.

Other municipalities and organizations across Canada selected for the 2021 program include the Diamond Dawgs Baseball Club in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia; the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in St. Mary’s, Ontario; the town of Gananoque in Ontario; the West Hill Baseball League in Toronto, Ontario; and the Beaumont Minor Baseball Association in Beaumont, Alberta.
