The problem erupted on Percy Street around 8:40 p.m.
Police said they were called after reporting “disturbances” involving what they called a “group of men”.

It is understood that beatings were exchanged and police last night confirmed that one of the men involved suffered a minor ear injury.
A car was also damaged as a result of the disruption.
TodayMerseyside Police say they have arrested two men in connection with the shameful scenes.
A spokesperson said: “We were contacted at 8:40 pm last night with reports of a disturbance on Percy Street in Bootle involving a group of men.
“A 44-year-old man from Wirral was arrested on suspicion of assault causing ABH, criminal damage, fighting and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
“A 28-year-old man from Liverpool has been arrested on suspicion of a fight. “
The spokesperson added: “No one was seriously injured. Damage was caused to a Vauxhall Corsa.
“The two men are currently in police custody where they will be questioned by the police. “
