Can church choirs sing if all members have been vaccinated?
Yes. Unvaccinated parishioners who are not in the choir should ensure they continue to wear masks.
After being vaccinated, if I get COVID, can I pass it on to others?
Yes. In all likelihood, you would be able to distribute it to others. What we don’t know is how contagious a vaccinated person can be or for how long. Hopefully, over time, research will be able to better understand these specificities.
Fully vaccinated people should not visit private or public facilities if they have tested positive for COVID-19 within the previous 10 days or if they are showing symptoms of COVID-19.
At the beginning of mask wearing, we were told that wearing masks offered more protection to others than to the mask wearer. So, how can we protect our children if their masks are used more to protect others?
Masks are primarily source controls, which means children who wear masks are less likely to spread the virus to other children. But masks also protect the wearer to some extent. No measure is perfect. Ultimately, it’s about reducing risk.
I have a friend in my building who was shot by Johnson & Johnson. Now she wishes she had received the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines. Is it possible for her to go back and get vaccinated?
She shouldn’t regret her decision, the vaccines haven’t been tested one-on-one, so we don’t have meaningful efficacy comparisons. Johnson & Johnson shot has shown excellent performance in protecting against serious illnesses. It is not advisable to get vaccinated again with a different vaccine.
I am fully vaccinated. Should I quarantine myself after a flight?
No. According to the CDC, vaccinated travelers do not need to be tested before or after travel unless their destination requires it and they do not need to self-quarantine.
