In a very close game all night, the Milwaukee Bucks won over the Washington Wizards, 135-134.
NBA.com Box Score
We knew this one had the potential to be a high scoring, and right away the Wizards got to work. Led by 12 points from Bradley Beal, Washington led 37-29 in the second quarter.
Donte DiVincenzo continued to shine in the second quarter, as his three balls really helped the Bucks keep this one close for the majority of the period. As the horn sounded for the second quarter, the two teams were tied at 71 each.
Milwaukee would continue to push things forward until the fourth quarter. A Jrue Holiday float would put the icing on the cake for a great quarter-time, giving Milwaukee an eight-point lead, 103-95.
It was tight throughout the closing minutes of the fourth, but Pat Connaughton connected on two massive lines that took Milwaukee’s lead to five. Brook Lopez would then get a huge offensive rebound and a pullback. Washington would have a chance to win it on a shot at a half-court from Garrison Mathews, but it made the rim shake.
Stat that stood out
I have to go with Donte DiVincenzo for this one. We’ve seen him struggle in some of the recent games, but from the start of this one he was in a certain mode. Immediately in the first quarter, his three balls seemed to really find the rhythm. When all was said and done, the Big Ragu would finish with five threes and 19 points. It was surely a great performance for him and one that he will be looking to use for the momentum to come.
