Barry’s Amusements Portrush owners release statement on sale of major attraction – fr

The owners of popular North Coast tourist attraction Barry’s Amusements have released a statement on their hopes of selling the business.
The Trufelli family, owners of the iconic Portrush spot, said on Friday that they intend to market the business for sale now that economic conditions are more favorable.

But in a statement, they said they “recognize that it may not be possible to find a suitable buyer.”

The family said they have appointed Savills and Philip Tweedie & Company to market the site as both a running business and a development opportunity.

The statement read: “Since October 2019, the Trufelli family has sought to sell Barry’s entertainment as an operating business.

“This is an intensive process that has been hampered by the Covid pandemic and the resulting economic conditions.

“As we return to a more favorable economic environment, our intention is to re-market the business for sale.

“While we hope we will be able to sell the business as a going concern, we recognize that it may not be possible to find a suitable buyer.

“As a result, we have appointed Savills and Philip Tweedie & Company to market the site as both a running business and a development opportunity.

“Barry’s continues to remain closed under Covid restrictions and will not reopen until the sale process is complete.

“There will be no further comment from the Trufelli family. “
