Anti-vaccination protesters stormed Westfield shopping center in west London on Saturday after hundreds joined a protest against the rollout of the coronavirus vaccine in the UK.
Officers were forced to close the roads around the center when a number of protesters caused “significant disruption” in the area, forcing shops to close for the safety of their staff.

Photos and videos on social media showed protesters clashing with officers as they attempted to enter the building on Saturday afternoon.

Metropolitan Police said three separate protests took place in London on Saturday, two of which ended “without incident.”

In a statement shared on Twitter around 6:30 p.m., the force said: “The third demonstration is now in Westfield and causing significant disruption to the local community and businesses, with police on site. “

At 7:45 p.m., he added that the incident was over and officers had withdrawn from the scene.

Met police also said on Saturday evening that four arrests had been made in connection with protests in London, although it was not initially clear which protests the arrests took place at.

“At 9.45pm on Saturday May 29, four arrests were made during a number of protests in London,” a force spokesperson said.

“Four men were arrested on suspicion of offenses, including assault on the police, violent disturbance and criminal damage. “

Earlier today, a large crowd of people gathered in Parliament Square to protest the government’s response to the Covid-19 crisis, with some protesters claiming the pandemic was a hoax.

One man, who did not give his name, told the PA News Agency that he came “because I want to be free and I want you to be free and the government to lie to us.”

Another protester said she attended the event because the press “lies to us” about the pandemic.

At around 1:20 p.m., the crowd began to disperse and head towards Hyde Park before a group of protesters gathered at the West London Mall.
