“I was 35 – a geriatric pregnancy, as my OB-GYN delicately puts it – and had what I thought was a pretty amazing pregnancy,” Anna mentionned. “So when I woke up in the middle of the night in a little puddle of liquid, I really didn’t know what to do.

Anna and her then husband Chris Pratt welcomed Jack in August 2012, seven weeks before her due date. The actress explained that she was able to “hold him very briefly” before he spent a month in the neonatal intensive care unit.

“The day came when I was able to take Jack at home, and the first few years were filled with doctor’s appointments, five surgeries, physiotherapy, lots of laughs – because Jack was and is the cutest thing I ever imagined, ”she said.

Anna revealed that she often wondered if she was responsible for her early water breakage.

“Why has my water broken? So, of course, I tried to look for answers. ” Anna recalled. “I asked my doctor if my dream could have caused my water to break because I remember feeling nice just before waking up. She laughed and said no. I asked him if the baby’s fingernails could have torn the bag, I asked him if there was anything missing in my bag, if I was running too much, if I was running too little. I gained 60 pounds – I was up to 160, and my doctor at one point suggested I calm down on the maple bars.

“I couldn’t stop looking,” she continued. “I asked her if the ‘geriatric’ thing had something to do with it, if the cold meats I was eating… I couldn’t turn off. I couldn’t turn off my own hamster wheel while searching for answers. And the truth is, in a lot of these cases, we have no idea why this is happening. And after Jack was born, my dad joined the board of GAPPS, and a few years later I did too. Thus, the No. 1 objective of GAPPS is prevention. And to prevent premature births, we need answers. “

Anna recently made headlines for a comment she made that fans are speculating about Chris Pratt.
