‘American Idol’ crowns winner of season finale on ABC – Deadline – fr

SPOILER ALERT: This story includes details about the American Idol May 23 finale
The season finale of American Idol is here and a winner has been crowned.

Chayce Beckham was chosen as the winner of the 19th season of American Idol.

Grace Kinstler was the first to go earlier in the episode. Willie Spence did not get any votes and was the finalist for the 2021 season of American Idol.

It was reported earlier this month that American Idol was renewed for a fifth season on ABC – bringing his total run to 20 seasons.

There is no official news on the return of judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie and host Ryan Seacrest, but the Disney-owned network is confident they will return for next year. Last year the show was renewed in May and the judges resigned in August so it’s no surprise.

ABC said that American Idol averages 9.4 million viewers after 35 days of delayed viewing on linear and digital platforms and ranks number one in the series in its two-hour time slot and fourth unscripted series of the season with the total number of viewers.

The show has also overcome a few issues this season, including earlier this week kickoff finalist Caleb Kennedy after an online video that showed him sitting next to someone wearing a Ku Klux Klan balaclava and of Cecil Ray Baker, accused of home burglary. after leaving the show.

Executive producers include Fremantle’s Trish Kinane, Jennifer Mullin, Megan Wolflick, with Eli Holzman and Aaron Saidman as executive producers for 19 Entertainment.
