BAFTA nominee Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Nocturnal animals, Principe, A million little pieces) would have starred as Kraven the Hunter in Sony Pictures’ upcoming solo film, according to TheWrap. The outlet reports that the studio has locked down Taylor-Johnson for several photos depicting the Spider-Man villain.

In Kraven the hunterRussian immigrant Sergei Kravinoff (Taylor-Johnson), aka Kraven the Hunter, is on a mission to prove that he is the greatest hunter in the world.
Kraven the hunter will be led by Oscar nominee JC Chandor (Margin call, One of the most violent years, Triple frontier) from a screenplay by Richard Wenk (Equalizer movies, The Magnificent Seven, The mecanic). Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are attached to produce the project. The film is billed as the next chapter in Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters (SPUMC). The film is scheduled for release on January 13, 2023.

Kraven the Hunter, whose real name is Sergei Kravinoff, was first introduced in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man # 15 in 1964. As his nickname suggests, he is a hunter with a superhuman ability to follow his prey. More than 20 years later, its final story, Kraven’s Last Hunt, has become a defining moment in Spider-Man’s long and increasingly complicated canon.
