A Quiet Place II ranked Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes in early reviews – fr

Let’s be honest: sequels are mostly a bit of a letdown and leave audiences hoping to let the original stand on its own.

But we are delighted to report that this does not appear to be the case for A Quiet Place, Part II.

The highly anticipated sequel to the 2018 horror hit has garnered very positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, where it has been rated Fresh with reviews praising it as more than worthy of existing (which is high praise in the world of the following).

In the film, Emily Blunt reprise her role as Evelyn Abbott, while her husband John Krasinski is this time only behind the camera (or is he?).

He follows the Abbott family as they continue their fight for survival while quickly realizing that “the creatures that hunt by sound aren’t the only threats lurking beyond the Sand Path.”

Here’s what the critics said:

The Wrap

“Krasinski has gained confidence and skill, creating a sequel that is at least as compelling if not more than its predecessor. “

Collider

“A sequel that both broadens the world and digs deeper into the personal heart at its center. Skeptics, like me, are appeased. “

Jonny CournoyerPrimordial

Forbes

“While it’s done well and worth seeing in theaters, it plays out more like a generic horror movie while still giving the impression of being set up for fallout and other consequences. “

Uproxx

” At the end of A Quiet Place, Part II my stomach was really hurting. There’s no way I could have done another 20 minutes because it’s too intense. This is one of the best compliments I can give him. ”

Hollywood journalist

“The intimacy of the narrative tirelessly draws our anxieties throughout the duration. “

Rewards Radar

« A Quiet Place, Part II manages to take a truly fantastic film and create a worthy follow-up. Honestly, this is the rare sequel of the genre that you can’t complain about. ”

Film total

« Part II comes across as a cautious consolidation and continuation of its parent film rather than a departure, with the heart and hope to keep us invested. ”

A Quiet Place, Part II releases in US theaters on May 28 and in UK theaters on June 3.
