6 new deaths, 118 new cases Thursday – fr

Saskatchewan health officials on Thursday reported 118 new cases of COVID-19 and six deaths.
One deceased was in their 60s, two in their 60s and two in their 80s, all in Saskatoon. A person in their sixties from the northwest area also died.

New cases are reported in the following areas:

  • Far northwest, two.
  • Far north of the center, three.
  • Northwest, eight.
  • North Center, 19.
  • Northeast, two.
  • Saskatoon, 33 years old.
  • Center-east, six.
  • Régina, 23 years old.
  • South center, two.
  • Southeast, 14.

Six new cases are awaiting information on residency. Three previously reported cases where residency information was pending were added to the Northwest, Saskatoon and Southeast areas.

The seven-day average is now 137, or 11.2 new cases per 100,000. The province has 1,382 known active cases.

There are 127 infected Saskatchewan residents in the hospital, including 27 in intensive care.

The province also reported 216 new recoveries.

9,427 additional doses of vaccine were administered on Wednesday. The province has now delivered a total of 679,274 doses of the vaccine. People 12 years of age and over are now eligible for their first shot.

Only residents aged 80 and over, or people who received their first injection on or before March 1, are currently eligible to make an appointment for their second injection. More and more people will become eligible over time.
