The United States has gone for preppy uniforms designed by Ralph Lauren, while as many have pointed out online, Canada has gone in a completely different direction.
It is safe to say that our athletes will stand out, especially with their choice of closing ceremony outfit. Canadian athletes will wear Canadian tuxedos during the event, which will feature a denim jacket and Japanese street art.
It set the internet on fire, with many sharing their vocal opinions regarding the design of the Canadian look.
Hudson’s Bay unveiled the Team Canada collection last summer, which featured many traditional styles, including a red jacket with a large maple leaf on the back for the opening ceremony.

To start Canada’s race to the Olympics, athletes will wear a red jacket with a maple leaf prominently placed on the back.
There are 13 stripes in the maple leaf to represent the unity of the 10 provinces and three territories of Canada. The jacket is also made of lightweight, water resistant nylon.
Under the jacket will be a white t-shirt with a maple leaf in a red circle on the chest. Canadian decathlete Pierce LePage shows it below.
When Canadian athletes step onto the podium, they will wear a jacket with “Canada” on the back. It will be teamed with sweatpants with a maple leaf graphic on the leg.
