After Jake Paul finished Ben Askren in the first round at Triller Fight Club on Saturday, calls poured in.
Ranging from celebrities to veterans, the target on Paul’s back was obvious. MMA’s most notable name to express their desire to punch Paul in the face, however, was UFC Hall of Fame member BJ Penn.

“Hey @triller, send me a contract and I’ll be happy to take that f * cker out of service in one turn,” Penn tweeted.

Penn, 42, has not fought in mixed martial arts since May 2019. He was released from the UFC after a video of him fighting on the streets later that year. In the video, Penn was shaken and let go by another man. A second video showed him on the offensive, as he punched the man to the ground. Penn left the promotion on a losing skid of seven fights.

During this time, Paul won his three boxing fights against celebrities other than boxing. First, he beat YouTuber Ali Eson Gib by TKO in the first round. On his second outing, Paul planted the face of former NBA star Nate Robinson in the second inning. The vicious knockout has gone viral.

Paul’s Askren TKO on Saturday was the fastest end of his professional boxing career. It only took Paul 1 hour 59 minutes.

In 2012, legendary boxing trainer Freddie Roach considered Penn one of the best boxers in mixed martial arts. In 32 professional MMA fights, Penn racked up seven wins by KO or TKO. He has never boxed professionally.

The Triller Fight Club took place on Saturday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The card has been distributed à la carte.
