Takumi Minamino suffered a disappointing loan spell with Southampton

Liverpool’s silver hopes this season have taken another heavy blow this week – and it looks like they are now looking to strengthen their squad this summer.
Real Madrid clinched a 3-1 victory in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday, giving Jurgen Klopp a huge setback in his pursuit to reclaim the trophy he won in 2019.

And with Manchester City on the verge of winning the Premier League, Klopp’s side are likely to end the season without a trophy unless they can stage a remarkable European comeback.

Injuries have played their part, but the Reds are undoubtedly desperate to strengthen their ranks this summer, as several big names could leave Anfield as well.

So, without further ado, here are the latest rumors from Liverpool …

Wijnaldum is expected to leave Anfield when his contract expires at the end of the season, with Barcelona being his likely destination.

And the Reds have already started their search for his replacement, according to reports in Italy.

Gazetta dello Sport have claimed that Jurgen Klopp’s side were the last team to take an interest in Dutch teenager Ryan Gravenberch.

It emerged on Thursday that Chelsea are eyeing the 18-year-old midfielder and now Liverpool and Manchester City have joined the race to sign Ajax ace, valued at € 35million.

Gravenberch already has three caps for the Netherlands and has received rave reviews for his performances in the Dutch top flight.

Reds push Dembele to move

Ousmane Dembele faces uncertain future at Barcelona

Ousmane Dembele has been tipped to travel to Liverpool amid a potential summer reshuffle in the Reds’ attack.

The Barcelona star has been hampered by injuries since moving to Camp Nou and faces a big decision that could see him seek new pasture.

Dembele’s contract is coming to an end and John Barnes believes the Frenchman is a perfect fit for Liverpool.

Klopp regularly turned to his three-pronged attack on Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino – but the trio struggled to replicate his stunning form.

“One player who I think could be successful at Liverpool is Ousmane Dembele,” Barnes told BonusCodeBets.

“He would be in the top three because his franchise is perfect for the Liverpool way of playing.

“Of all the players linked to Liverpool, he is a player whose fans should be thrilled. If he wants to continue playing at bigger clubs like Barcelona then Liverpool are the right club for him. “

Takumi Minamino has admitted he didn’t expect to leave Liverpool in the January window – but he appreciates the chance to play regular Premier League football.

The Japanese star has been cleared from Anfield to join Southampton on loan and he has scored two goals in six appearances at St Mary’s.

Despite a disappointing time with the Saints, Minamino doesn’t regret the move – and he told Southampton official site : “It was the last day [of the transfer window], after training – around five o’clock, I think. Some guys called me, and it happened.

“I wasn’t expecting it at all, so I was probably the most surprised of all when I got the call.

“It was a good feeling. For me it was a good opportunity and I felt a positive feeling. I wanted to take this chance and came here.

He added: “For a football player, playing is the most important thing.

“Playing more helps me regain my confidence as a player. I want to play more; the more I help the team and I contribute to the victories, the more my confidence will grow.

“Playing in the Premier League has been a dream for me since I was a child. I really like having the chance to play in the Premier League.

“I only have a few months left to help the team, but I want to work hard and use all my abilities to make sure the team is doing well and getting as high as possible in the league.

“I just want to help the team by scoring and helping as much as possible. I’m an attacking player, so it’s my responsibility to score and help the team. This is where I focus. “
