Tamsin Greig Celebrates Paul Ritter Co-Star of ‘Courageous’ Friday Night Dinner

Tamsin Greig paid tribute to his Friday Night Dinner co-star Paul Ritter.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince star Paul has died at home at the age of 54 after a battle with a brain tumor.

They played husband and wife in the Channel 4 comedy Friday Night Dinner.

In an overflow of loving words, Tamsin praised his late co-star for his “tremendous courage” and “effort.”

Weeks before his death, the couple reunited to collaborate on BBC Radio 4 Meet Me at the Museum.

She wrote in The Guardian: “It took a tremendous amount of courage and effort for him to record the drama from a distance from his home when he was so ill, and I am honored that he so willingly agreed to do so. . It is a beautiful heritage and a tribute to his art, and a gift of time and experience that I will cherish. ”

Tamsin gushed about how “deeply loved” her friend was and called attention to her best qualities, from her kindness to her dedication to her family.

On a sad note, she said the world was a “less bright place” without her friend.

She added: “I am eternally grateful that our paths have crossed. His kindness, attention to detail and phenomenal memory, his passion for music and football, his dedication to his beautiful family, his utter inability to accept a compliment, and his calm, loyal, compassionate friendship will remain with me for always.

“The world is a less bright place without Paul. Take it easy, my friend. You are deeply loved. “

The sad news of Paul’s death was revealed on Tuesday.

“It is with great sadness that we can confirm that Paul Ritter passed away last night,” his agent confirmed.

“He passed away peacefully at home with his wife Polly and sons Frank and Noah by his side. He was 54 years old and suffered from a brain tumor.

“Paul was an exceptionally talented actor playing a huge variety of roles on stage and on screen with extraordinary skill. He was extremely smart, kind and very funny. He will be sorely missed.
