Celtic fans took to Twitter to respond after learning Rangers decided to boycott social media for a week in response to social media abuse.

The Gers will refrain from posting anything on their social networks, to highlight the persistent problem with a lack of accountability on the part of users.

It must be exhausting for footballers to have horrible comments following them around.

Arsenal forward Willian even said he was now “afraid” to check his phone.

These are sad times – I hope others will join Rangers and Swansea.

Thankfully, it looks like Celtic fans on Twitter are backing their rivals after their decision.
