Timely help side rotations, shooting small rollers, rims. A breath of fresh air to see the hands and the mobility he brought to the central starting position tonight. Good product.

Big fan of his offensive involvement from the start. Featured in the scaled screen at first, and took repeated possessions in the pick n ‘roll as the game progressed. A triple pull-up fell. Stuck multiple catch and shot triples. Brought his classic defense. Impressive.

Really helped close a bunch of defensive possessions when competing on the glass. The Spurs sent their guards to stealthily bounce back and he punched them out on several occasions. The pick n ‘pop / flare actions are always a win for the Raptors offense, and it is a natural addition to Siakam’s play. Too many turnover, but that’s life.

P. Siakam37 MIN, 20 PTS, 11 REB, 6 AST, 2 STL, 7-20 FG, 0-1 3FG, 6-7 PI, 1 BLK, 2 TO, 4 +/-
An ineffective night of filming, but one that was a major factor in the success of the Raptors offensive. Attacked the gaps with a little more patience later in the game and helped the Raptors close it, in addition to playing steadily during his 37 minutes of play. That, and a nice defensive problem-solving game.

The power in 3 points is extremely significant. And he’s able to dust off a lot of players who flip over him with an impressive in-n-out dribble or hesitation. Providing the Raptors with a quality pick n ‘roll reset option has been fantastic. He just makes quality “leader” decisions in the course of the match. And his defense is always in my eyes.

A +

Y. Watanabe19 MIN, 11 PTS, 4 REB, 1 AST, 0 STL, 4-6 FG, 3-5 3FG, 0-0 PI, 1 BLK, 1 TO, 9 +/-
Gradation on a curve, of course. The extra pop he’s worked into his game turns him – and his excellent defense – from a limiting spin player to one you feel guilty about not going into double digits. Several transformative defensive plays and a truly impressive shooting hunt. Excellent game.

Defeat DeMar DeRozan and Nathan Knight at the top in consecutive matches. I must like the guys who challenge the dunks. The improvised projection is pretty good and he always ends up in the right place on both sides of the pitch. He moves so well in space. Forget the 10 days, offer him the 2-year contract.

A

P. Watson14 MIN, 9 PTS, 2 REB, 0 AST, 0 STL, 3-4 FG, 2-3 3FG, 1-2 PI, 0 BLK, 1 TO, 3 +/-
Got into the game and trained off the discs and hit triples offensively. Defensively, he showed his defensive lineup (which prevailed before running out of time) and continued to make a difference by challenging shots. Really understands how to navigate the Raptors defense.

Had a couple cheering on pick n ‘roll possessions. But, his performance was for the most part non-descript.

If Watanabe and Watson keep playing like this, he’s probably the Strange Man. We will see how the rotation evolves in the future.

I loved the sets to open Anunoby and Siakam in this one. Much more onscreen help than we’re used to seeing. That alone gets an A + from me. Not to mention that the defensive game plan was pretty neat in this game.
