Some of the major pub chains have announced when their staff will resume pints before the next step in easing government lockdown restrictions.
From April 12, around 15,000 pubs will open across England for the first time in months.

Although service is limited outside until May 17 at the earliest, the boozers are bracing for a flurry of thirsty Brits to arrive in a few days.

Some owners will even open their parking lots and use the roads as makeshift beer gardens.

For the 40 percent of pubs that reopen, they hope to make up for lost time with a service that was completely shut down four months ago.

The closure of the sector severely damaged the industry.

Strict rules are in place from Monday to allow them to re-negotiate and ensure the safety of staff and customers.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of Monday’s next step on the path to normalcy as the big hitters explain what’s going on in their establishments.

Greene King

In terms of opening hours, it’s worth checking out before you grab a pint.

The chain hopes to open 442 pubs on April 12, or about a third of its total.

Most Greene King pubs will start serving at 11am.

But some will open at noon – with closing times ranging from 9 p.m. to midnight.

They say full details are on the channel’s website.

Wetherspoons

The popular chain has confirmed that some of its pubs will reopen at 9 a.m. on April 12.

But not all Wetherspoons have outdoor space – so they’ll be forced to stay closed until next month.

Drinkers should check the closing times.

Many pubs, according to their website, close at 10 p.m. – but some are open later, while others close at 9 p.m.

Young’s

Young’s has confirmed that they will not be opening their doors early.

Hours of operation vary, but most will start serving food and drinks from 11 a.m., the chain explains.

The table reservation is already in progress – and it is certainly advisable to reserve your place.

Most pubs will close at 11pm, but like all boozers, it’s always best to check before making any plans.

Marston’s

There is more good news for drinkers – Marston’s has reaffirmed its intention to open around 700 breweries and other outdoor spaces.

The company said it opened around 70% of its 1,000 pubs across England.

COO Ed Hancock said: “There is no one-size-fits-all solution, we have to think about how the space will be used and most importantly what customers are looking for.

“During 2021 and beyond, outdoor spaces will become even more valuable and the industry must continue to provide a safe and comfortable environment for customers.”

Scottish and Welsh pubs will open on April 26, subject to final confirmation from the authorities.
