Health Canada and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) are warning buyers of a major recall of a pair of frozen desserts that previously caused an allergic reaction.

Nestlé Canada Inc. is recalling Nestlé brand Drumstick Caramel Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert Cones and Non-dairy Drumstick Vanilla Chocolate Swirl Frozen Dessert Cones from the marketplace because they may contain milk which is not declared on the label. the CFIA said in its “Caution Recall. ”

People with allergies to milk should not consume the recalled products, said the CFIA and Health Canada.

“Check to see if you have the recalled products in your home. Recalled products must be discarded or returned to the store where they were purchased, ”the warning reads. “If you are allergic to milk, do not consume the recalled products as they can cause a serious reaction or even death. “

A reaction associated with the consumption of these products has been reported, the CFIA said.

This recall was triggered by CFIA test results and the CFIA is conducting a food safety investigation, which could lead to the recall of other products, he said. If other high risk products are recalled, the CFIA will notify the public through updated warnings.

The CFIA is verifying that the industry is removing the recalled products from the market.

Walmart spokeswoman Felicia Fefer confirmed that Walmart carries these products in stores.

“According to the recall, they are being pulled from store shelves,” she said in an email.

Metro spokeswoman Stephanie Bonk said Metro and Food Basics were transporting Nestlé products, but were recalled.
