Princess Eugenie has promised to look after the Queen in a touching message to her late grandfather, Prince Philip.
She spoke fondly of the Duke of Edinburgh in the tribute, remembering a day when she “cremated the sausages” and he jumped in to “save the day”.

She also thanked him for his love and dedication to herself and the rest of the family, but “especially Granny”.

She shared two photos of the Duke of Edinburgh, a recent photo showing them at horse races and a return photo with her grandfather when she was little.

Earlier this year, Eugenie welcomed her first child, a baby boy, and gave him the middle name Philip in honor of her grandfather.

Posting on Instagram, she writes: “Dear Grandpa, we all miss you. ⁣

⁣ “You would be so touched by all the tributes that have been shared with me over the past few days. ⁣

“People remember sitting next to you at a dinner party, or shaking your hand once, remembering you said hello in passing, or what their DofE award meant to them. ⁣

Princess Eugenie wrote on Instagram that she named her son after Prince Philip

“I remember learning to cook, paint, read. I remember laughing at your jokes and asking you questions about your spectacular life and service in the Navy.

“I remember cremating the sausages and you came to save the day.” I remember your hands, your laughter, and your favorite beer.

“I will remember you in your children, your grandchildren and great grandchildren. ⁣

⁣ “Thank you for your dedication and love for all of us and especially for Granny, which we will take care of for you. ⁣

“With all my love, Eugenie.

Eugenie joined several other members of the royal family in paying tribute to Philip.

Harry described him as the “legend of jokes” while William said he “felt lucky” to have had him in his life.

The Cambridges also shared a photo, taken by Kate, showing Philip driving Prince George on horseback and in a carriage.

The Duke of Edinburgh passed away peacefully at Windsor Castle on Friday. His funeral will take place on Saturday and will follow all Covid rules and restrictions.
