Premier of British Columbia to answer questions on COVID-19 and announce new youth employment program

Premier John Horgan is expected to answer questions from reporters on Tuesday for the first time since March 29, when the province announced additional restrictions on COVID-19 amid a record number of cases.

The seven-day rolling count was 826.4 new cases per day on March 29 and rose to 1,112.7 new cases per day.

Horgan will appear alongside Economic Recovery and Jobs Minister Ravi Kahlon and Nelson-Creston MP Brittny Anderson to make an announcement on youth employment.

On March 29, Horgan told young people not to “mess up” for the rest of British Columbia when it comes to the spread of COVID-19. Young people have been disproportionately affected by the pandemic, suffering greater job loss and impacting their finances.
