Pioneer Ree Drummond’s nephew Caleb was arrested for DUI more than a month after her horrific car accident also involving her husband Ladd.

Ladd, 51, and Caleb, 21, were each driving a Himmat fire truck on March 10 when they collided head-on after the winds reduced visibility, Caleb reportedly ejected 70 feet from the truck as none of the two men wore seat belts.

In addition to the DUI, he was charged on Saturday with carrying firearms under the influence and carrying an open container of beer, TMZ reported.

The Osage County Sheriff’s Office did not release detailed information about the arrest and it is not known whether he remains in custody.

Ree’s The Pioneer Woman magazine Instagram page, featuring Ladd’s children Alex and Todd, offered an update on the crash earlier this month, with a good prognosis.

“Ladd and Caleb are recovering from their accident at the ranch,” the statement read, adding, “And the Drummond family are so grateful for all of your kind words! “

She added that her mobility is “a bit limited” at the moment, but Ladd is “still able to hang on”.

After the accident, which occurred on March 10 near Pawhuska, Oklahoma, the two men were taken to St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Caleb was admitted in critical condition with injuries to his head, arms, legs and interior, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.

Ree revealed in a March 15 blog post that Ladd and Caleb were responding to a fire at the ranch when the crash happened.

While Ladd initially refused help, he was taken to hospital after learning that his neck was broken in two different places, which was almost catastrophic.

“Rather than wishing that the accident didn’t happen, I’m going to live in a state of gratitude – not just for the guys who are doing well, but also for the love, kindness and prayers of so many of you.” Ree wrote on her blog.

“Thank you all for contacting our family and keeping us in your hearts for the past few days. I can’t tell you how much this means to all of us, and I will never, ever forget it! she added.
