A new unofficial website shows that it is possible to make a vaccination appointment with only a few hours’ notice in Quebec.

By pulling data from the Clic Santé website, vaxstat.ca (statvaccin.ca) shows in near real time where the vaccination sites are located and what their availability is.

“I wanted the public to have an appointment-making experience that was a little different from what happens on Clic Santé and to explain to them that we can find vaccination centers available the same day”, explains Baptiste Laget, a programmer who created the site.

“I was quite surprised. When places opened up at the Palais des congrès, they immediately appeared on my site. If you made an appointment at noon, it was possible to be vaccinated at 4 p.m. or 5 p.m. “

Clic Santé indicates nearby places that have availability within seven days, but not on the same day.

Vaxstat sends people to the Clic Santé site to actually make their appointment.
