Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has been asked to review his ‘bad’ defense by replacing three center-backs in the summer transfer window.
The Gunners kept a clean sheet in their 3-0 win over Premier League laggards Sheffield United on Sunday – but it was their first shutout since January.

Arsenal’s mixed form this season leaves them firmly in the middle of the table, 10 points behind fourth-place West Ham with virtually no hope of qualifying for the Champions League.

Former England midfielder Paul Ince believes a below-par defense contributed to Arsenal’s disappointing season and called on Arteta to offload Rob Holding, Calum Chambers and David Luiz.

“I still think they’re poor defensively,” former Manchester United and Liverpool star said Premier League productions .

“If you look at the defense, other than Kieran Tierney, I’m looking to change three or four.

“No disrespect to Holding, Chambers or Luiz, but if you want to move forward… you see where they are in the table.

“This team should compete for places in the Champions League, so there are four new players out of five to integrate into this team. “

Despite Arsenal’s pessimistic assessment by Ince after his win at Bramall Lane, Arteta was happy with his team’s clean sheet and overall professional performance.

“I’m really happy with the way we played,” said the Spaniard.

“We scored some great goals and controlled the game as we wanted.

“We played at a high level. From the start, I felt that the boys were there, we were efficient. It is an ideal preparation for Thursday. It was a long race without a clean sheet. “
