Course of action has confirmed that a familiar face will return in the next episode of the BBC One drama.

BAFTA winner Anna Maxwell Martin will return as Senior Detective Superintendent Patricia Carmichael in the next episode of Course of action, which airs Sunday, April 18 at 9 p.m.

“Pat is back,” Maxwell Martin confirmed in a statement. “I don’t remember what she’s doing there, I wouldn’t be allowed to chat either, but suffice it to say that she has a new clobber and is ready to crack some balls.”

DCS Carmichael was previously seen in the show’s fifth season when she was brought in as an independent AC-3 anti-corruption investigator as suspicions about Superintendent Ted Hastings’ integrity reached new heights .

The character’s return follows Ted (Adrian Dunbar) who received devastating news in last week’s episode, when he was called to a reunion and told him he was being forced to retire. .

Not only that, but Ted also heard the news of the AC-12 breaking up and merging into one department.
