Justin Hartley says Kevin and Randall needed ‘time’ before reconciliation

In the season four finale, the Pearson brothers got into an argument over Rebecca (Mandy Moore) ‘s health care. But when they unearthed 40 years of resentment, everyone knew it would be hard to come back.

Now it looks like a reconciliation is on the horizon. Then, in a recent interview, Hartley explained why Kevin and Randall needed “time and space” before buying the hatchet in It’s us Season 5.

It’s been almost a full season since Kevin and Randall’s big fight in It’s us. Of course, some fans wondered if another party, like Jack (Milo Ventimiglia), would have known what to say to end the feud sooner. But in an interview with ELLE from March 2021, Hartley ended the theory.

“I don’t know if there is much you can say,” Hartley said. “They didn’t speak for a while. I don’t think they ever thought it would last that long or that it would be apart forever. I think it turned into something like that, it snowballed.

The actor also suggested that Kevin and Randall just needed some space and time to cool off.

“You know, sometimes people are stupid,” Hartley said. “It started with anger. Then it was a betrayal, and then horrible things were said. Often it is enough to calm down. You just need a little time and space before you get in so that you can calm down and speak with a calm head and be rational.
