By now you should know that today Taylor Swift released her re-recording of the Intrepid album, titled Intrepid (Taylor’s version).

The album, originally released in 2008, features iconic songs such as “Fifteen”, “Love Story” and “You Belong With Me”.

Now the reason Taylor re-recorded this album was to provide fans with a way to listen to the legendary album without Scooter Braun enjoying it. It’s a long story, but basically Scooter bought the masters for Taylor’s first six albums in what Taylor called his “worst nightmare,” due to the “relentless and manipulative bullying” he received from him. had suffered over the years.

So in addition to enjoying Tay’s more mature voice and his great never-before-released bonuses, the new album gives us a way to support Taylor as an artist rather than the man who took advantage of her image without her consent. . like sending a message to artists all over the world to be able to own their own music.

Taylor Swift wasn’t lying when she said she was going to devalue the old master of her albums. iktr caption behavior #FearlessTaylorsVersion 💛💛

BUT, it doesn’t matter if you keep listening to the old versions of the songs. It’s pretty easy if you only listen to Without fear (Taylor version) repeat like me, but it’s harder if you just mix Taylor Swift or casually listen. So how do you hide the songs on Spotify? Twitter user @swifferupdates detailed how in a Twitter thread!

First you obviously want to hide Fearless (Platinum Edition). Go to your Spotify, find the album, and next to each song, click on the three dots, then on the second option at the bottom, which is “hide”.

Spotify

According to @swifferupdates, this is the only version available in many countries, so you might be able to skip the next step!

This method is not foolproof, as some users have pointed out, but it is useful. It’s also a good idea to create your own Taylor Swift playlist with all of her songs EXCEPT those listed above, then go to settings, then play, and turn off “autoplay”. just listen to their playlists, like the one below:

Spotify

This playlist still has original versions for the other 4 Taylor albums owned by Scooter, but for now that’s all we have for these songs. You’ll want to use a different playlist if it isn’t updated after each album rerecord is released (although that playlist claims it will be updated). You can also listen to a playlist like this, which has ONLY songs that Taylor owns, which means she won’t have Taylor Swift, Speak Now, Rouge, 1989, or Reputation.

If you are an Apple Music user, delete songs from your library, then make sure to only search your library when listening to Taylor. Otherwise, there doesn’t seem to be a way to ‘hide’ songs from the streaming side, but I’m not an Apple Music user, so let me know in the comments if you’ve found a way!

Go ahead, Swifties! Now you can listen to Taylor’s music in peace!
