Hansi Flick has confirmed he will leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season after falling out with the club’s sporting director.
The Bayern boss – who led them to Champions League success in 2020 – has asked the club to terminate their contract early after several disagreements with Hasan Salihamidzic over last summer’s transfer deals.
The 56-year-old – who is currently on contract until summer 2023 – were frustrated with the way the club allowed Thiago Alcantara to leave and failed to find suitable cover for Robert Lewandowski.

Speaking after Saturday’s 3-2 win over Wolfsburg, he said: “I told the team today that I informed the club during the week, after the game in Paris, I would like to terminate my contract at the end of the season. ”
Flick also added that becoming Germany’s new manager this summer remains “an option”.
Flick was touted to take over Joachim Low as head coach of the German national team.

Low recently announced that he will be stepping down as German manager after Euro 2020 after asking to end his contract earlier.
As a result, Flick has been named a potential successor to Low – who will leave the international team after 15 years at the helm.
After taking over from Niko Kovac in November 2019, Flick has won six trophies in 18 months with the Bundesliga team.
Such a record puts him at the top of the list of candidates – according to German legend Matthaus.
Matthaus believes Bayern’s Champions League at Paris Saint-Germain was a catalyst for his departure.
He said: “I already said two weeks ago that in my opinion this was the last season of Hansi Flick,” he said. ‘I said Hansi Flick is right on top of the DFB [German Football Federation] list, and then nothing else for a long time. There is an offer from the DFB, yes.
“So they want Hansi Flick and I think – or rather, I am convinced – that Hansi Flick will no longer be Bayern coach after this season.

“This means that the last game against Augsburg at home will be Hansi Flick’s last game as Bayern head coach. ”
RB Leipzig manager Julien Nagelsmann was subsequently linked with a position at Bayern.
Ahead of Flick’s announcement, Nagelsmann insisted he was happy at RB Leipzig and that he or his representatives had had talks with the Bundesliga leaders.
Nagelsmann has impressed since taking office at Leipzig in 2019 – guiding them guided them to the Champions League semi-final last season.
