Prince Harry’s wife Meghan Markle was unable to attend Prince Philip’s funeral in person as she is expecting her second child with the Duke of Edinburgh’s grandson.
But she still managed to play a small role in the ceremony, which took place on Saturday April 18 at Windsor Castle.

Meghan has requested that a handwritten note of her be placed next to a wreath at the funeral and it has also been reported that she watched the service live from her home in Los Angeles.

She reportedly watched with her son Archie, the Duke’s great-grandson, via a live stream. The show was hosted by Buckingham Palace to allow those close to the Duke, but who could not attend the funeral, to follow the service.

It was accessible through special login details and was identical to the coverage on TV, just without the comments from people like Huw Edwards.

Meghan’s note accompanied a wreath chosen to include flowers from the Duke’s beloved Greece, as well as sea holly in honor of the Royal Marines.

The Duke’s coffin was transported on a special Land Rover he helped design and painted in a dark bronze green color, reserved for army vehicles.

The funeral was the first public meeting between Prince Harry and his brother Prince William, since Harry and Meghan’s interview with Oprah Winfrey, in which the two criticized their treatment in the UK. The two had a conversation after the funeral service and that’s what they reportedly said.
